How to Prepare for your Motherhood Session
Hey there Mama!
We are so excited that you are interested in a session that celebrates the bond between mother and child! In our studio we will work together to create classic timeless images that will be treasured for generations.
So many of our days are dedicated to the hustle and bustle of life. We give so much care and attention to others around us and tend to forget to take care of ourselves. Taking this time to slow down and capture the connection between you and your littles is something that I promise you won’t regret.
Styling
Baby: My studio is packed full of head pieces, layers props, and outfits for newborn babies and up to about one year old. I have all the things so you don’t have to stress on finding, researching, or shopping for anything. My style is simple and timeless. We don’t “dress up” baby in costumes. We choose classic items that focus on and showcase your beautiful babe. We will go over colors and your preferences but I will take care of all the styling for you so that you can just relax and enjoy the process.
Mama: Outfits for Mom is our specialty! For motherhood sessions, I love dressing mom in beautiful gowns and leaving baby bare bottomed or wearing simple matching outfits. We have everything so you don’t need to stress! Most gowns are adjustable to fit any size and are flattering on all shapes and sizes.
Things to bring
• The essentials of course! Milk, diapers, wipes, and snacks!
• Extra change of clothes and something that is easy to get baby in and out of. If its warm enough arriving in just a diaper or zip up onesie is great so baby doesn’t have to handled too much which could cause a fussy baby.
• Strapless bra (if the outfit you chose calls for one)
• Comfy clothes for yourself to easily change in and out of (sweats are great!)
• Nude seamless underwear That’s it! We have the rest!
All the little details
• Hydrate the day before and the day of – Drink all of the water!
• Exfoliate skin (especially lips and face)
• Moisturize
• Prep Sleep is everything, this includes you too! Make sure little one has napped well and has a full tummy. Nobody wants to have their photos taken when they are tired and hangry.
• For baby: Full feeding before, well rested, bring favorite toys and snacks.
FYI – Between 5-7 months even if your baby doesn’t have teeth yet, babies are teething! Sore gums can make for a challenging photo session. If you have any soothers or ointments, please use just before your session so baby is comfortable and feeling their best!
• For Mom: Arrive with hair and make up ready to go for shoot, and heck, why not bring a snack for you too.
• Please arrive 5-10 mins early so we are able to start on time. Other than changing baby into our cute outfits you want to be as prepared as possible to maximize our session time.
You’re so prepared
Now all we need to do is look forward to creating images that you’ll treasure forever.
