Wide Eyed and Dreamy Newborn Session
Wide Eyed and Dreamy Newborn Session

Welcome baby Olive! Having three boys I have no experience of having a baby girl. All of my boys as babies were super chill and calm. Meeting baby Olive gave me a flashback of what it was like to have my own newborn baby. Her eyes were wide soaking up the surroundings and sill calmness in her personality. It was the best for getting that perfect mixture of sleepy dreamy newborn photos and some beautiful awake photos where you can see the curiosity in her eyes. Getting the best of both worlds is a Seattle newborn photographers dream! So I apologize in advance if I over use the word dream today.

Olive’s mom chose creams and pinks for her gallery colors. Those two are my most popular colors for newborn baby girls. I love soft neutrals with touches of pink. It’s timeless and expresses the sweetness of a newborn baby girl.

Newborn sessions typically begin with baby. Whether you are coming to my studio and it takes you 15 minutes or an hour the soothing car ride after all my newborn prep guide instructions gives us a beautiful sleepy baby. The first photos of just baby on a poser takes anywhere from 45 mins to 1.5 hours depending on baby. We use soft colored backdrops paired with headbands, bonnets and wraps to capture the sweetness of your bundle of joy. After newborn poses on the poser I’ll usually move onto floor posing. Floor posing is on a wood backdrop in a bucket, basket or bowl. Of course if at anytime during the session your little one needs a feeding break we stop and continue on when baby is ready.

After capturing those tiny baby toes, details of babies face all sleepy and dreamy we get to parent photos! I just made this beautiful soft pink and white flower wall to use during my sessions for mom and baby. I love that it is something a little different and a little special to view mom and her new baby. I go for a sweet and natural look to express the love between mom and baby.

Baby Olive’s session was so sweet and beautiful I hope you enjoy!
