Twins!!! It has been on my bucket list for a long time to get the opportunity and the honor to photograph a pair of newborn twins!
I had first met Megan and Andrew for their maternity session back in March at the Seattle University of Washington campus. We had gotten up at sunrise for their session and it literally poured down rain on us the entire time! We still were able to capture some amazing pregnancy photos! Megan wore a stunning red Sew Trendy gown that absolutely looked so regal against the old world style buildings on the campus.
Fast-forward to May and both her twin boys were born a day apart naturally! This is so amazing and rare for twin babies. This being my first set of twins I had the help of my wonderful studio partner come to help for this session. Safety is always my top priority for baby sessions and I wanted to make sure we had hands on a baby at all time in between set ups and during taking photos.
What I had prepared to be a tough session ended as one of the easiest sessions I have done in a long time! We were done in less than 2 hours! Both boys were so sweet and easy going. I haven’t been around very many twins and even at only a couple weeks old you could definitely see differences in their physical features, but also their personalities. I will always be amazed at these tiny humans that are so tiny but so full of spunk and expressions.
My favorite part of this session was parent photos! I had planned on wrapping the boys to keep them calm, but they did so well we also did naked baby posing on Mom and Dad! We even got a smile from one of the boys!
I am absolutely thrilled with the way the photos turned out. Now I feel like I have earned a special reward as a Seattle newborn photographer after reaching this achievement! I cannot wait until I get my next set of twin babies! In the mean time I will continue to photograph all the beautiful and amazing single babies I have that are due in the next couple of months!
